UNBLOCKThe "CF UNBLOCK Tool" can be used to quickly remove a site that might be blocked by ConFetch's imported source lists. The Whitelist [ALLOW] tool is meant for removing sites that might be blocked by ConFetch, the next time you run ConFetch. If you need to block more sites that aren't already listed within ConFetch you should use the Blacklist [DENY] tool for that, and they will be inaccessible the next time you run ConFetch. These tools are all available from the program's icon group: select Start, select (All) Programs, select ConFetch PRO, select ConFetch Tools to find them.
Using the UNBLOCK Tool is easy if you follow a few simple tips. If you are in a hurry and want to more quickly unblock (allow) a site that is blocked by ConFetch, just use the CF UNBLOCK Tool icon to begin the process of opening the Whitelist [ALLOW] file with Notepad and use normal domain name format like in the following example: Of course, none of the sites above are actually blocked by ConFetch and they are used here as examples only. The changes will take effect as soon as TreeWalk is restarted by the script.
ConFetch can remove some characters, duplicates, protocols, blank lines, et cetera but you should always use the format that the TreeWalk name daemon requires. Whitelisting with ConFetch means that you will need to enter an exact match to the entry in the blocking file (filter.conf) that is causing you not to be able to view a site. If you're not sure, you could paste this into a "Run..." box
(accessible by selecting Start, then selecting "Run..."): ...then use the "Edit" menu in Notepad to "Find" the domain name you want to remove, confirming that it actually exists in "filter.conf". The CF UNBLOCK Tool may be developed to search filter.conf and confirm or reject exact matches for you in a future version. Be careful not to use an exact duplicate entry in both the Whitelist [ALLOW] and Blacklist [DENY] files at the same time. Doing so requires diligence and comprehension of the impact this could possibly introduce. Advanced users can find another use for the UNBLOCK tool. If you add a matching name to the Blacklist [DENY] file and save it before running UNBLOCK and then place the same name into the Whitelist that way, you will be able to view the newly whitelisted site until the next time you run ConFetch. This might be handy for accessing sites that you might not want to visit again afterwards. Excessive caution should be employed when using the UNBLOCK tool this way.
